Lucerne’s Finest Barbers are the team around Joel Blattner and Engels Rodriguez. Both have been awarded (including Best Barber of Switzerland) and have been active in the barber trade for many years.
Finest haircuts, clean contours and a feeling for the right look characterise Finest Barber’s.
The Finest Barbers opened their first branch in Stampfenbachstrasse 14 in Zurich, very close to the Central. This place has a long barber tradition. The shop still has the charm of the 1960s. Robert Rosenberger cut men’s hair and beards here for almost 40 years. Long before the term «barber» was used in this country, this was a place exclusively for men. Here you could lean back, relax and forget the hectic world outside for a short time.
Since September 2020 you can find the Finest Barbers in Lucerne. They have settled in Hallwilerweg 5, very close to the train station.
When choosing the location, good accessibility by public transport, but also by car (parking spaces are right outside the door) was a decisive factor.
The atmosphere in the Lucerne shop is typically masculine. Concrete, leather and wood. In addition, a well-assorted drinks bar and the finest Amici Espresso offer everything you would expect from a good barber.
Of course, the Finest Barbers also use only the best products for their customers› hair. Suppliers from all over the world supply the barbers in Lucerne and Zurich.

Engels Rodriguez
Engels Rodriguez, born on May 30th, 1992, is a true expert in hair and beard. At the beginning of his 15th year he decided to learn the hairdressing trade.
Already during his apprenticeship he realized – barbering is his passion. In 2013 he trained as a barber. Engels deepened his knowledge until he became one of the best barbers in Switzerland.
Since then he has been known far beyond the country’s borders. Again and again, Barber from Germany, Switzerland and Austria want to be educated or trained by him.
He became known as a barber to a wide audience throughout Zurich and the surrounding area when a magazine reported about him and his weekend activities. On Saturday after work he packed his bag and went out on the street to cut the hair of the homeless for free. He said at the time: «A good haircut is something precious. It makes a person feel good. And I want to share this good feeling with the socially weak. »
When Robert Rosenberger, the owner of the oldest men’s hairdresser in Zurich, died in spring 2017, Engels Rodriguez applied for his successor. A request that heirs gladly complied with. After all, the store was in the best hands.
With the promise to continue to run the shop in the style and in the spirit of the late Mr. Rosenberger, Engels Rodriguez initially started running his barber shop alone as “Engels The Barber”. In a very short time, however, it was fully booked several weeks in advance and he had to get reinforcements. Since then he has been supported by Joel Blattner and thus complements the team from “Engels The Barber”, the oldest barber shop in Zurich.
You may have to wait a little longer for an appointment today, but customers are happy to accept that. «Despite his great success and his fame, this young man has always remained humble and down-to-earth. And as a barber, he’s a league of his own. » one of his customers sums it up.
On October 1st, 2019 the name was changed from “Engels The Barber” to “Zürich’s Finest Barbers”.
In his spare time, Engels is known and known throughout Switzerland as a DJ. He plays regularly in the largest and trendiest clubs in Switzerland. What he does, he does right. And really successful.

Joel Blattner
Joel Blattner learned the barber craft from Engels Rodriguez. The two worked together for a short time before Engels decided to go it alone.
In 2017, shortly after completing his barber training, Joel took part in the Barber World Championship. The best barbers are selected from each country in a preliminary decision. As “Best Barber on Switzerland”, Joel represented Switzerland at the International Barber Awards, making it one of the 21 best barbers in the world.
Of course, one could assume that this was due to the good training of Engels, but that alone does not make a good barber. A talent was given to Joel and with his eye for detail and his skilled craftsmanship, he has established himself as a top-class barber.
When Engels was looking for reinforcements for his shop, it was almost clear that Joel would follow his trainer and work with him from now on.
Joel Blattner
He learned the work of a Barber from Engels Rodriguez. Both worked together for a short time, before Engels made himself a Barbershop.
In 2017, just short after he finished as a Barber, he took part of the Barber World Championship. Where in the beginnings the best national Barbers were voted. He won the best Barber Award of Switzerland in 2017 and with that he is one 21 best Barbers from all over the World.
Joel has got a Talent, he has a sight for details and precision. And that comes together with learning from Engels Rodriguez. They‘re a pro-Barber-Team.
Since Engels was looking for some other Barbers working in his Shop, he was sure about Joel working with him together.
Emmanuel Sampang
Master Barber Emmanuel Sampang joined Finest Barbers in 2020.
Emmanuel is 28 years old and a trained hairdresser. After his apprenticeship, he worked for various barbers and continued his education.
He is now one of the best barbers in Switzerland.
Together with Joel, he was responsible for our shop in Lucerne from 2020 to 2023. Since May 2023, Emmanuel has been based mainly in Zurich to support Engels in the management of the Zurich location.
He is a real professional and therefore extremely popular with customers and employees.
But Emmanuel is also always present at many events and trade fairs and inspires people with his friendly manner and his skills.
In his free time, Emmanuel plays American football.
Nicola Lo Gullo
Nicola is part of the Finest Barbers family since July 2021. Nicola is a trained hairdresser and has trained and trained with various high class barbers.
Nicola is a true barber with great sensitivity and an eye for detail. Since January 2022 Niocola is responsible for our store at Ace Cafe.
His customers appreciate his calm manner. Nicola combines Italian tempo erament with Swiss accuracy. We are very happy to have Nicola as Master Barber in our team.
Sebastian Vorfi
Sebastian is part of the Finest Barbers family since 01.01.2023. Originally, Sebastian made an apprenticeship in the KV. But his passion has always been barbering. Therefore, already in 2021 he attended a course with Engels Rodriguez to be instructed in the art of barbering. After his successful graduation in CT, he then wanted to work full time as a barber. After a three-month internship at Finest Barbers Zurich and Lucerne, he was then hired as a barber in Lucerne. Two days a week he also works at Finest Barbers in Zurich. We are happy that Sebastian is part of our small barber family and look forward to many successful years together.
